Matter sobre el papel, dolores de cabeza en la práctica. Lo tuve que reiniciar más veces de las que enciendo luces. Matter on paper, headaches in practice. I rebooted it more often than I turn lights on.
Prometía todo, entregó la mitad. Cuando funciona es genial; el problema es el "cuando". No lo recomiendo todavía. Promised everything, delivered half. When it works it's great; the problem is the "when". I can't recommend it yet.

Quería creer en él. Un solo aparato que hablara Matter, Thread y Zigbee, local, a 69 dólares: justo lo que la casa inteligente lleva años prometiendo. Tres semanas después, la promesa sigue a medias.
Genial cuando quiere
Con dispositivos de la propia marca, impecable. En cuanto metes sensores y bombillas de tres fabricantes vía Matter, empiezan los emparejados que se caen, los dispositivos “no disponibles” y el reinicio como solución universal. La app no ayuda: traducciones a medias y menús que se contradicen.
Lo reinicié seis veces en tres semanas. Mi router, que también odio, lo reinicié una.
¿Para quién es? Para quien ya vive en el ecosistema Aqara y quiere sumar Thread. Para una casa mixta y multimarca, todavía no: espera un par de actualizaciones de firmware.
I wanted to believe in it. A single box speaking Matter, Thread and Zigbee, local, for 69 dollars: exactly what smart home has promised for years. Three weeks later, the promise is still half-kept.
Great when it feels like it
With the brand’s own devices, flawless. The moment you add sensors and bulbs from three makers via Matter, the dropped pairings, “unavailable” devices and reboot-as-universal-fix begin. The app doesn’t help: half-baked translations and menus that contradict each other.
I rebooted it six times in three weeks. My router, which I also hate, once.
Who is it for? Someone already in the Aqara ecosystem who wants to add Thread. For a mixed, multi-brand home, not yet: wait a couple of firmware updates.
